Elmira Enforcers Announce Return of Two Fan Favorites

by Jon Kliment

The Elmira Enforcers of the Federal Prospects Hockey League are proud to announce that two fan favorites have signed on for the 2020-2021 season as both Goaltender Joe Young and Defenseman Glen Patterson have agreed to terms with the Enforcers.

Patterson, a 29 year old defenseman from Cobden, ONT Canada, finished his second season with the Enforcers in 2020. Glen was a leader both in the dressing room and on the ice earning himself the Assistant Captain’s A on his jersey. In two seasons in Elmira, Patterson has dressed in 106 games scoring 24 goals and 70 assists for 94 points. Glen has had two great seasons here in Elmira. When asked about why he resigned Patterson quickly replied; “Everyone knows how much I love it here, I haven’t kept it a secret. There is no place I would rather play than Elmira. It is special to put on that green jersey, but I am coming back to win. We have had two teams I thought could win a championship and this year I am coming back to bring the trophy to Elmira.”

Young, a 26 year old goaltender from Hanson, MA, spent his rookie year in Elmira as the backup to Troy Passingham for the majority of the season. Joe dressed for 34 games posting an 11-1 record with a 2.29 goals against and a .935 save percentage earning Elmira their only shutout of the season. Young hadn’t lost a game since November 29th when the season came to a close and will be a great addition to our lineup for next season. “Elmira is a great organization with first class owners and an amazing fan base that makes it an unbelievable place to play and I am looking forward to coming back next season.” Young told reporters.

“We are aware that though the country is on pause along with hockey it is important to lay the basis for when we are back and going again. These two players were key the success of the Enforcers this season and we knew we needed to sign them back to contracts before we got too deep into the offseason.” Robbie Nichols told reporters.

The Enforcers will be heading back to First Arena this year as they attempt to claim the Commissioner’s Cup in their third season. Season Tickets are on sale now by calling 607-734-PUCK and guarantee yourself a spot today!
