Enforcers Announce Key Re-signings

The Elmira Enforcers prepare for their third season and have a lot of great news coming up before it gets underway!

The Enforcers are proud to announce several signings ahead of the 2020-2021 campaign as Stepan Timofeyev, Troy Passingham, Cameron Yarwood, JT Walters, Mark Essery, and Gino Mini have all made their way back to the Enforcers.

Timofeyev, a 24 year old forward from St Petersburg, Russia, has played 49 games for the Enforcers scoring 21 goals and 57 assists for 78 total points earning himself the Rookie of the Year honor in 2019. Stepan also added 9 points in Elmira’s run to the Commissioner’s Cup finals in 2019. Timofeyev began last season with Macon of the SPHL where he has contributed 4 goals and 11 assists. Stepan’s grit and hard-nosed play have made him a fan favorite here in Elmira, while his speed and scoring prowess continue to dazzle.

Passingham,a 29 year old goaltender from Mississauga, ONT, returns for his third season with the Enforcers with an impressive 40-26-6 record over two seasons in Elmira. Troy had 19 wins in his second season which was tied for the most among FPHL goaltenders. Passingham secured the first ever shutout in Elmira history against the Dashers on February 9, 2019. Troy is a huge asset in net for the Enforcers and will keep the team competitive in goal.

Yarwood, a 26 year old defenseman from Grosse Pointe, MI, has been with the Enforcers since their inception and won Defenseman of the Year from the Federal Hockey League in both the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons. Yarwood has set the bar for Enforcers defenseman and continues to reset it every time he steps on the ice. Cameron had 23 goals, 25 assists, and 40 PIMs in his time here in Elmira and his leadership in the locker room has been invaluable.

Walters, a 25 year old defenseman from San Diego, CA, returned to the Enforcers for a second season after a strong rookie season in Elmira. In JT’s time in Black and Neon Green the two way defender has scored three goals, assisted on 11, and had 151 penalty minutes. Walters +/- is more impressive as he has a +46 since joining the Enforcers. JT’s grit and intelligence with the puck has made him an asset to the Enforcers.

Essery, a 28 year old forward from Framingham, MA, came to the Enforcers via trade with the Mentor Ice Breakers. Mark played 14 games in Elmira last season scoring 2 goals and 4 assists. Essery still holds the Ice Breakers record for Assists and is tied for All-Time Franchise points. Mark is a hard working player with an edge and a scoring touch and will be looked to as a leader in the locker room as well.

Mini, a 24 year old defenseman from Richmond, MI, came to Elmira after a trade with the Battle Creek Rumble Bees. The 6’4 rookie defenseman had a lot to offer and showed off his ability to read plays well. In addition to his ability to play defensively sound hockey Gino was also able to add some offense to the Enforcers scoring 2 goals and adding 7 assists. Mini had 3 points in his final five games last season and will add a lot in his second season.
