Enforcers Announce Mahfouz to Return As Player and Associate Coach

by Jon Kliment

The Elmira Enforcers are proud to announce that Ahmed Mahfouz will be returning in his leadership role to the Elmira Enforcers as player and Associate Coach.

Mahfouz, 31 from Ottawa, ONT Canada, had another terrific year in an Enforcers uniform. Through 36 games played Mahfouz scored 23 goals and 61 assists for 84 total points which was two higher than his total from last season. Ahmed has played in 401 total FPHL games with 835 points and has been the face of the Enforcers franchise since their inception. Mahfouz is a three time season MVP playoff MVP, FPHL Rookie of the year back in 2010-2011, and Forward of the Year for the past two seasons.

Perhaps more telling than his statistics are his embrace of the community during his tenure here. Ahmed continues to lead the way at any team function and his time that he donates to the fans makes him an asset to the organization. Mahfouz not only works hard on the ice, but also in his approach to giving Elmira a reputation as a great place to play.

Ahmed has never shied away from the spotlight during his time in Elmira and his team first attitude comes through every time he touches the ice. Mahfouz scored his 800th career point this past season and his work ethic is second to none. With a veteran presence like Ahmed in the lineup the Enforcers are set to once again be playoff bound with an eye on the Championship.

Owner Robbie Nichols was very excited to get this signing done: “Fouz was the very first player I went after to bring to our organization. The fierce way that he plays the game, the energy and excitement he brings every night is what our great fans deserve.”
