Game preview vs Carolina

The Elmira Enforcers continue to seek their first win, this time against the Carolina Thunderbirds, as they head out to the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Annex tonight at 7:35pm.

The Enforcers (0-1-0-1, 1 pts, .167%) will battle with the Thunderbirds (2-0--0, 6 pts, 1.000%) as they look to rebound from last weekend’s season opening sweep by Danville.

Tonight’s game is the first of fourteen meetings between the clubs this season.

ENFORCERS NOTES

- Dryden born Marko Novosel tallied the team’s first goal in franchise history when he scored at 12:29 of the first period  last Saturday

- Darren Lamble provided grit in the previous matchups as he dropped the  gloves twice in the first two games

- League Leader in most offensive categories, Ahmed Mahfouz, will not be available during this road trip.

- Kyle Stevens spent part of the season last year in Carolina after being moved  from Danville last season

THUNDERBIRDS NOTES

Head Coach Niec was suspended for six games which leaves team trainer Karolina Huvarova as interim head coach. Making her the first European woman to coach a men’s pro game.

Goaltender Henry Dill had a shutout last weekend stopping 22 of 22 for his first of his career.

Carolina’s special teams went 4 for 8 on  the power play and a perfect 6 for 6 on the penalty kill last weekend.
