Hat Tricks Come Up With Magic, Sweep Enforcers 5-2

by Jon Kliment

Elmira came into Saturday night's contest with something to prove. The Enforcers had split the series in Danbury with the Hat Tricks and after dropping two straight felt they had a lot left in the tank after pre and post thanksgiving defeats.

The first period was everything the Enforcers could have asked for as at 11:01 Kyle Stevens got a hold of a cross crease pass and waited for Dillion Kelley to get out of position and slide the puck behind to give Elmira a 1-0 lead. It didn't take long for the Enforcers to add another goal to their column as on a power play Cameron Yarwood slapped one from the point past Kelley to give the Enforcers a dominant 2-0 lead to take into the locker room.

If the first period was a triumph the second period was a tragedy as Danbury struck back three times in 8:18 after lifting netminder Kelley for Thomas McGuckin. Steve Brown, Nicola Levesque, and Matyas Kasek all found ways to put the puck by Troy Passingham to give Danbury a lead going into the second intermission, but the blows did not stop there as the third went similarly poor for Elmira as 3:38 into the final frame, while the Enforcers were on a power play, a two on one shorthanded break ended with a fourth goal being scored by Kendall Bolen-Porter. Elmira took a desperation shot by pulling Passingham with six minutes to go and this would also result in an empty net goal by Cory Anderson to make the final 5-2.

Passingham stopped 40 of 44 in the loss.

The Enforcers will be back home on Friday December 6th against the Watertown Wolves at 7:05 pm when they will be giving out Christmas Cards! Don't miss out call today 607-734-PUCK!
